When deciding on a hair supplement to go with, the amount of choice you have can be overwhelming. How do you know which supplement is right for you? What has the best ingredients and which has the best chance of making your hair grow faster and be healthier? Hairanew and Hairfinity are two very popular hair supplements that many women (and some men) are taking in their efforts to grow longer and healthier tresses.

Hairfinity got put in the spotlight a few years ago when celebrity Kim Kardashian spoke about how the popular hair supplement completely changed her hair and made it much healthier. HairAnew didn’t get this attention, but that doesn’t mean it’s an inferior product simply because it wasn’t endorsed by someone famous.

So here’s the deal: you’re inevitably going to get different answers depending on who you ask, so in this comparison of HairAnew and Hairfinity supplements, I’ll take a look at some of the ingredients in a bit of detail and then leave it up to you to decide which one you want to go for.

Hairfinity vs Hairanew: a closer look

Each supplement contains a wide range of ingredients which are purported to support hair growth. Below is a list of the ingredients for each hair supplement and how they might help you in growing longer and healthier hair. You can also go here to see other vitamin supplements for hair growth.

HAIRFINITY

Main ingredients:

  • Vitamin A – This vitamin is crucial for proper cell function and is a powerful fat-soluble antioxidant. However, too much vitamin A can actually lead to hair loss. Hairfinity provides 8150 IU of vitamin A, which is about 163% of your daily needs.
  • Vitamin C – This vitamin helps scavenge free radicals, and it’s most often used for fighting off colds. One of its other function though is to help produce collagen and prevent damage to elastin in the skin. Vitamin C is also important for building up keratin, which is the protein that hair is made up of. A healthy scalp leads to a healthy foundation for healthy hair to grow.
  • Vitamin D + Calcium – Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that we produce from exposure of our skin to the sun. Unfortunately, many people don’t get enough sun, and thus are very low in vitamin D, which can have a seriously detrimental effect on hair growth.  If you have hair loss, vitamin D deficiency could be one of the reasons why you’re losing your hair. Calcium goes well with vitamin D, but there is no indication that it will help with hair growth or is a major cause of hair loss in most people who suffer from it.
  • Vitamin B12 – Crucial for proper nerve function and supports hair growth by helping oxygenated blood get to the scalp where it’s needed to nourish the hair follicles.
  • B vitamins – B vitamins act as cofactors which are important in various reactions in order for cell cycle/metabolism to properly function.  It’s good to see that several B vitamins are included in the supplement because if you just include one, it can cause imbalances and deficiencies in another. Low vitamin B levels can damage hair follicles, increase DNA damage and is a cause of hair loss.
  • Biotin – Of course no hair supplement would be complete without a healthy dose of biotin, which many find helps them grow hair that is healthier and grows much faster.

Other ingredients: Hairfinity also has several other ingredients such as MSM, Hydrolyzed collagen, Horsetail, and Silica. Each of these is known to have benefits for hair and skin. Hairfinity also has gelatin, so it’s not suitable for vegans.

My thoughts: This supplement is a well-rounded hair supplement, however, not much different than what you would get in a regular multivitamin.  And in addition to these vitamins, you also get a complex of various amino acids which may have some benefit in hair growth and skin health.

Most reviews tend to be very positive, and many people say they are showing great results after trying out the supplement. So, it might be worth a try if you’re looking for a good quality supplement to help you grow your hair out.

I also don’t see any serious issues with dosing in this supplement. It has a respectable amount of biotin and no ingredients which would cause any major reactions in most people.

One word of cautious though: if you are taking this supplement or any supplement which has a lot of biotin in it, then it might be worth trying 1 capsule or tablet a day, and then after a week or two you could increase to a full dose. This gives your body time to adjust to the supplement.  Some people who take a high dose of biotin experience acne breakouts. This can be alleviated by taking a zinc supplement (as was the case for me).

HAIRANEW

Main ingredients:

  • Vitamin C – This is one of the main ingredients in HairAnew, which is not a surprise since as mentioned earlier, vitamin C is crucial in the production of collagen, keratin, and it has a very important role as a powerful antioxidant in the human body. HairAnew provides 750 mg, which is several times above your daily requirement.
  • Vitamin E –  An important fat-soluble vitamin that is also a powerful free radical scavenger. It works well with vitamin C and helps repair the skin and heal damage to hair follicles.
  • Niacin – Important for promoting healthy hair growth.  One of the causes of alopecia with diffuse hair loss is niacin deficiency. Niacin also helps support blood flow to the skin and scalp. Which means more nutrients for the hair follicles to produce hair!
  • Biotin – Not unexpected for a hair supplement to contain Biotin. In HairAnew, you get significantly more biotin than Hairfinity.
  • Pantothenic Acid – This B vitamin has been used in the treatment of hair loss and it’s been shown that a deficiency in B5 is a cause of hair loss.
  • Zinc – The form of zinc included in this supplement is Zinc Gluconate – which is a highly bioavailable form.  Zinc is important for hair growth, it helps reduce DHT, and it’s important for vegetarians and vegans to supplement to ensure they get enough of this important and overlooked mineral in hair loss.

Other ingredients: The supplement contains Kelp, which is helpful in providing iodine and promoting proper thyroid function and faster hair growth. Inositol is another ingredient added, although there isn’t much evidence that this helps promote hair growth.

Ginko Biloba helps promote blood thinning and enhanced blood flow to the extremities and skin.

Bamboo extract is the last ingredient, which contains silica, a crucial mineral for healthy skin and hair. Another good thing about HairAnew is that it’s suitable for vegans.

My thoughts: HairAnew supplement is the supplement that I am most familiar with and it’s currently my favorite. I think the inclusion of zinc in the supplement is super important because high doses of biotin can cause acne breakouts in some people.

After doing much research, and suffering from this problem myself, I found that by including zinc picolinate supplement in my regimen, my acne completely went away and I was able to continue taking biotin.

Now that this supplement has zinc, I can just take this one.  Hair anew is also relatively cheap and can be used in addition to other vitamin and mineral supplements, whereas Hairfinity is basically a multivitamin, providing you many of the vitamins and minerals most people are lacking in their diet.

This is especially true for people who are on a strict diet, and people who are either vegan or vegetarian.

Hairanew has also undergone assay testing for purity and levels of nutrients. So with HairAnew, you know what you’re getting.

In conclusion: which is better? Hairfinity or HairAnew

Both supplements provide vitamins, minerals and amino acids which are important for hair growth. I feel that Hairfinity is a more well-rounded supplement for someone who has a poor diet and is currently under a lot of stress which might be causing hair loss.

The inclusion of B vitamins in Hhairfinity is important for helping someone who has a lot of stress, anxiety or depression.

And in the video above, Khloe mentions that when she took Hairfinity supplement after a very difficult time (which she said might’ve caused her hair loss), and the supplement was able to help her grow her hair back.

HairAnew is a great hair supplement that would be suitable for someone who wants a basic hair and skin supplement but is also taking other supplements in addition to it.

I really like the fact that it includes zinc with the biotin, as this will help many people prevent breakouts that can come with taking high dose biotin. That being said, Hairfinity contains much less biotin, so it might not be a problem anyway if you go with that one.

Both supplements are good, and I can see why many people are vouching for them. I think it’s safe to say that both worth trying and just simply testing them out to see which makes you feel good and which helps your hair the most.

It’s a close call, but I personally like HairAnew. I could be biased…  🙂  But it was exactly what I need, as someone who is vegan.

Have you heard of Nutrafol or Viviscal? I’ve heard good things about both of these.
