About

Hello! – My name is Matthew Lake

Welcome to my website… A place that I hope you can come to and find information which will enable you to grow super healthy hair!

As someone who is passionate about nutrition, I’ve applied my knowledge and research skills to looking at ways to improve hair growth and maintain hair in good health for as long as possible.

I have over 12 years experience in blogging about nutrition and helping people improve their diet and their health. What I’ve learned is that the hair (and skin) is a reflection of our overall health.

If you’re not healthy, your hair isn’t going to be in the best shape either, right?

Why I created this blog about growing long hair

Since my hair started becoming really long, I’ve had so many positive comments about how healthy my hair looks and people were always asking me for advice on how to grow their hair longer and maintain it.

And while I can give them some simple tips on the spot, there are so many things which can positively or negatively affect hair growth, that it’s impossible to get them all the information they need on the spot.

So as someone who has a long history of helping people with their dietary habits, I thought that it would be a great idea to create a blog specifically about growing hair and preventing hair loss.

Having hair issues is something which can affect us all, whether you’re male or female. Of course, the reasons for hair problems can also be different due to biological reasons, but in some respects, a healthy head of hair is closely related to the quality of our diet and whether or not we are supplementing.

I love long hair, and I love helping people, so I hope that you find the information that I provide here helpful. If you have any questions regarding my advice, please feel free to contact me and I’ll try to get back to you within a day or two.

How I conduct my research and come to my conclusions

It’s important for me to gather high-quality evidence behind claims regarding nutrition and supplements. This is why I try as best as I can to stick to peer-reviewed studies to support any of the claims that I make or advice I give regarding hair growth.

To conduct my research, I will most often use Pubmed as a source to find scientific articles regarding hair growth or hair loss and related topics.

If you see that I have made any errors, I would be very happy to hear from you so I can immediately correct them. You may either comment on the article or use the contact form to get in touch.

I want to try to provide the most accurate and best information for you!

Why should you listen to me?

I have over 12 years experience in health blogging and experience in coaching people with many different needs, diets, and health problems. During this time, I have developed good research and analytical skills as a health writer, and therefore I am able to discern high-quality studies from poor-quality studies. I believe this is crucial for making decisions on which approaches you to take with your health and of course, your hair! 🙂

I also have completed studies in human nutrition, human physiology, cell biology, chemistry, and physics. I use a scientific approach, but also understand the power of combining natural therapies with modern medicine. I believe both can be complementary and provide the best results in some cases.

I’ve also made mistakes (as have we all) in the past and I’ve learned from them. For example, I have suffered hair loss as a result of mineral deficiencies, which I was able to identify and correct. This was a result of my vegan diet and a very high intake of fruits and vegetables (I explain more about this in my post about zinc and hair loss).

As someone who loves long hair, and thinks it’s pretty awesome, I want to make sure that you have the best hair possible!

Thanks for stopping by! And happy hair growing!

Matt
